2022 ROBIN HOOD RUN.
The forecasts had been awful, with heavy rain around lunch time. Despite that, we had a dry day for the ride, with bright sunshine at times.
Chairman Gordon found that his Moto Guzzi wasn't charging so decided to ride home to change bikes; halfway there it mysteriously started to charge the battery again, so he turned round to carry on with the run. (Italian electrics never had a good reputation!)
We started at The Horse and Groom, LInby, who allowed us to park vans/trailers and were very accommodating as usual.
The run took us from Linby through Calverton, Lambley, Southwell, Hockerton and Kelham to Bleasby where we stopped for lunch at The Wagon & Horses, Bleasby, who had kindly reserved tables outside for us.
We then rode through Westhorpe, Halam, Maplebeck, Wellow, Eakring, Edingley and Blidworth to finish back at Linby. A total of 78 miles for the day, if you didn’t miss any junctions. One rider realized his mistake when he encountered a ford!
